August 18, 2025
I am trying to slowly fill out the fragment pages so I can move them over to notes and start building on them. I'm already doing the stuff I do with my life that I want to record here, and I'm doing okay with adding new topics and pages, but filling out and defining all the "base level" stuff to get the garden going is taking a while.
Not beating myself up, just recognizing it will be incremental. I want to tackle at least two fragments a month and get some of my ideas out, even if I don't finish the page yet.

No significant updates, I've been working on other things. I think I am in an input moment and not ready to synthesize for output and updating all the things.

- Archived some content that will be going up on my portfolio site. Not sure how to handle archived content yet.

I have been doing a lot of stuff on the offline side of this garden and although it may be a few months until you see the fruits of those labors I hope you'll constantly check back waiting for it (just kidding, I hope you're only checking once a month or less).

- Housekeeping:
- Updated all book and notes pages to add properties so I can use nice tag-filtered views of my books and media from the Datacards plugin.
- Oops this relies on Dataview and I never figured out how to publish that so now all those pages are ugly online but they are lovely in Obsidian!
- Reversed this update.
- Started adding headers to some of my older pieces in "trees." Most of these started as very rambly journal entries and I'll be updating and finessing.
- Started making connections between various notes and adding page links.

- Moved some pages from Trees to Fragments because they aren't quite complete thoughts yet
- Moved many pages from Notes to Fragments to make it clearer to myself what pages need more work (damn, it's almost all of them)
- Cleaned up my tags
- Added some book quotes to some of the book pages and linked them in topic pages
- Cemetery List is my test for images with captions, fingers crossed. If it looks good after publishing I'll start updating the rest of my pages with images to match.
- TIL I can't put quotes in the caption. Also the nice captions and formatting don't show up online at all! Womp womp.
